Wet metal chips are deposited into the feed hopper by forklift truck or use of an (optional) hydraulicly powered chip box dumper. A screw conveyor reclaims chips from the feed hopper, unformly force-feeding metal chips & turnings to a twin roll shredder, if shredding is required. Occasional parts or other solids are rejected by a parts separator. Wet metal chips are "dewatered" in the vertical bowl chip wringer and expelled from the wringer pneumatically, through a pipeline for a distance up to about 100ft (30m) to roll off containers or transport vehicles.
Cutting fluids extracted by the chip wringer flow to a coolant collecting sump. Some finely sized metal grit will also report here. Removal of settled fines can be done manually from time to time, or automatically, with the use of a larger sump fitted with a drag out conveyor.
