Wet metal chips up to 1 ¼" . (32 mm) in length are fed into the feed chute (1). Bar ends, parts and oversize material may be removed with an optional separator fitted above the feed hopper. Wet chips enter the center of the rotating bowl (5) and travel upwards as they are displaced by incoming chip feed. As wet chips pass over a wedge wire screen element (4) liquids (oil/coolants) pass through the screen, reporting to the effluent discharge compartment and outlet (3) for collection and reclamation. After drying, chips pass over the flared discharge lip and are propelled by multiple rotating paddles for pneumatic conveyance to a collection container.
